The Peace Community Center Board of Directors made the difficult decision to pause all education programming starting in September 2023. During the last two years the Board was able to regain financial sustainability, fiscal clarity, and began to build a healthier partnership between The Center and Peace Lutheran Church congregation and staff, our foundational partner in service to the Hilltop community. We are now in the final stages of strategic planning, which we will finish by the end of 2025. In the spring of 2025, we engaged in community listening and engagement process to support our strategic planning. Welcome to the Peace Pathway
Peace Community Center offers a pathway model of holistic services that supports students in grades 2-12, college and career with academic and social-emotional resources, enrichments and development.
In partnership with Tacoma Public Schools and students’ families, Peace Community Center lives out its mission through youth development and education-focused programming. We focus on building relationships that support students to be successful from elementary school through high school graduation to college and sustainable careers. Our goal is for students to graduate from high school and obtain a post-secondary degree that fits their career goals. We believe that with this educational background our students will be well-positioned to obtain careers with the skills, experience and values that actively contribute to more just and vibrant communities, especially in the Hilltop of Tacoma.
